After signing in to my-hydroscape, you land on a scrolling dashboard with seven sections: a summary of your activity, your badges, a personal map, a biodiversity analysis, your species list, your photo gallery, and account controls. Scroll or use the quick-nav chips at the top.
1. Summary
The top of the dashboard. Headline numbers at a glance:
- Total submissions (across all record types)
- Unique species recorded
- Counties covered
- Collections you've contributed to (biodiversity, cormorant, water quality, deterrent, roost)
Good for a quick sanity check on your impact.
2. Badges
A collapsible trophy shelf showing your 20 possible badges. Tap to expand. Earned badges appear with their emoji; unearned ones show a progress bar toward the next milestone. Full badge guide.
3. Map
A personal map showing every sighting you've ever submitted. Coloured by record type:
- Purple pins — biodiversity sightings
- Red pins — cormorant records
- Blue pins — water quality reports
- Green pins — deterrent logs
- Night-blue pins — roost counts
Tap a pin to see the submission details. Filter by record type using the legend. This is the single most satisfying view once you've logged more than a handful of records.
4. Biodiversity
Visual analysis of what you've recorded, broken down by:
- Species conservation status (Red List, Amber, Green, Protected, Invasive, etc.)
- Taxonomic groups (birds, mammals, fish, invertebrates, plants, fungi)
- Month and season of sightings
- Species of conservation concern
5. Species
A list of every species you've recorded, with count and most recent sighting. Sortable by name, by date, by frequency. Tap any species to jump to its HydroLibrary card.
6. Gallery
Every photo you've ever uploaded to Hydroscape, in a scrolling grid. Tap any image to see it full-screen with the submission details. Useful for reviewing your own records and occasionally for realising the Red Kite you thought you photographed was actually a Buzzard.
7. Account
Account controls:
- Your name and email
- Country setting
- Sign out
- Request data export (all your records as a downloadable file)
- Delete account and all data
At the top of the dashboard, a row of chips (Summary / Badges / Map / Biodiversity / Species / Gallery / Account) lets you jump directly to any section without scrolling. On mobile, they scroll horizontally.
- Submissions appear within minutes of being logged
- AI verification status updates in the background — you'll see sightings progress from "submitted" to "AI verified"
- Badge progress recalculates on every page load
- Map and stats refresh automatically when you open the dashboard
- Offline submissions that haven't synced yet won't appear until the app catches up. Check the offline queue indicator in the hub.
- Submissions made before you created your MyHydroscape account won't retroactively appear in your dashboard. Records are linked to your account at the time of submission.
- If a specific sighting is missing and you're sure you submitted it while signed in, email info@hydroscape-group.co.uk with the date and species.
