All account controls are in the Account section at the bottom of your MyHydroscape dashboard. You can update your name and country, export a full copy of your data, sign out, or delete your account entirely.

  1. Open MyHydroscape and scroll to the Account section
  2. Edit the Name field — this is what shows at the top of your dashboard and on any future communications
  3. Edit the Country field if you need to change it
  4. Changes save automatically

These don't affect your historical records — they only change what's displayed in your account now.

Tap Sign Out in the Account section. You'll be returned to the MyHydroscape landing page with the sign-in options. Next time you sign in, everything is as you left it.

Signing out on one device doesn't sign you out on others — you'd need to sign out separately on each.

  1. Tap Request Data Export
  2. You'll receive an email within a few minutes to a few hours with a download link
  3. The download is a ZIP archive containing:

You can use this to keep a personal backup, migrate your records to another platform, or just to look through what you've contributed. We don't restrict how often you can request an export.

Tap Delete Account in the Account section. You'll be asked to confirm.

When you delete:

This is not reversible. If you might want to come back to your records later, export your data first.

The national dataset loses value if records are retrospectively pulled when users leave. A cormorant sighting from 2024 is still useful evidence for a 2027 licence application, even if the person who logged it is no longer active. By anonymising rather than deleting records, we preserve the dataset's integrity while honouring your personal right to leave.

If you want your records fully deleted rather than anonymised, email info@hydroscape-group.co.uk and we'll handle it manually under GDPR. This is a slower process, not an automatic one, because it requires manual verification.
