HydroTasks is a second installable app from Hydroscape — separate from the main Hydroscape App — for managing outdoor fishery and water-management tasks with GPS precision. If you're a fishery manager, bailiff, or part of a management team, it's useful. If you're just submitting sightings, you don't need it.
HydroTasks is a task management tool built for the outdoors. Think of it as a work-tracking app specifically designed for:
- Assigning tasks to fishery staff or volunteers
- Logging tasks against specific locations
- Recording task completion with photos, GPS, and notes
- Building up a record of work done on a water over time
It's a separate PWA from the main Hydroscape App — you install it independently from the install page.
- Fishery managers coordinating bailiffs, volunteers, or contractors across multiple waters
- Club secretaries tracking work parties, maintenance, and habitat improvements
- Rivers trusts and wildlife trusts managing volunteer fieldwork
- Anyone running a water who needs to know what's been done, by whom, and when
If you're using Hydroscape to log sightings, water quality, or cormorant records, you don't need HydroTasks. The main Hydroscape App covers that.
HydroTasks is specifically for the "we need to go and fix the fence on the north bank" side of fishery management — not the "I saw a kingfisher" side.
The two apps are siblings:
- Both made by Hydroscape-Group
- Both use the same sign-in (your MyHydroscape account, if you have one)
- Both work offline
- Both are installable PWAs — no App Store
But they do different things. Hydroscape is the public observational platform; HydroTasks is the operational task tool.

- You'll see both apps side by side, each with a QR code and installation instructions for iOS and Android
- Install either one, both, or neither depending on what you need
Installing HydroTasks doesn't require having installed the main Hydroscape App, or vice versa.
